Well its the new year, and after a long dull and boring festive period.... i finally played a game .
I was playing the harry potter and the deathly hallows for xbox with kinect enabled features( still haven't used that yet) the first recognisable thing is the rendering of the game its rather shit, some of its good and has a fu2 engine for it im assuming due to the nature of scenery that have realistic movements even down the the smallest of details. The bigger half of the rendering though it extremely poor with pixellation on some of the imagery and lines across surfaces that should not be there.
Spell casting : EA bright Light removed the self spell casting feature that was in the previous game "Half Blood Prince" which is a shame because it was more inviting to use the thumb stick to cast the spells and remember the order in which to move the stick, oh well .
the Actual spell casting is a simple shoot and kill method like all action shooters have , zoom in-target- aim-fire except not with guns but with spells sound effects are also rather gun type such as " expulso" which sounds like a tommy gun firing .
Game and story telling : Due to the nature of the game , some features had to be removed from the story to make smooth game play, they give challenges in between the cut scenes to pass the time when say hermoine is casting protection spells around the camp or when they are investigating the ministry and how to get inside. These challenges are to rescue muggle borns from snatchers and death eaters from death and or to kill as many of your foes in a certain amount of time.
The beasts that you face are good Dementors,Acromantula(spiders),Dragons, Pixies, Whomping Willows ( don't attack but just dodge these willows).
Death Eaters and Snatchers : the snatchers look like over grown Racoon if you look at a picture of them you'll see why, death eaters are just standard cone shaped people not racoons.
part from the flaws and some reviwes by others its not half bad passes the time and if you know how to enjoy paying then its worth it, but if you get bored easily by games best not for you, fans and people who play to enjoy or just play for the sake of playing then ok might be ok .
try kinect features once ive completed the rest of itT
